  • VANDALISM AT TUNSTALL CHURCH

    VANDALISM AT TUNSTALL CHURCH
    We are very sad to report that one of the large windows at Tunstall Church has been very badly smashed. It looks as though this happened overnight (Thursday 17th June). This is extremely sad, as well as very shocking, as it shows a complete disrespect, not only for the church but for the whole community of both Tunstall and Halvergate who regard Tunstall Church with great affection.
    There has recently been work carried out on the roof to keep the building in good condition so to find this type of pure vandalism has happened is very hurtful to those who put in a lot of work in raising funds and securing grants to help keep the church in good condition and open to the public.
    As a result of this vandalism, the excess on the insurance that will have to be paid will completely use up ALL the funds the church has.
    The POLICE have been informed. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS OR ANY IDEA OF WHO THE CULPRITS MIGHT BE THEN PLEASE LET EITHER THE POLICE KNOW OR ANY OF THE PARISH COUNCILLORS OR CLERK. YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE TREATED IN STRICT CONFIDENCE BUT WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION THAT ANYONE MAY HAVE.

  • In Memory of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh – Book of Condolence

    We are so very sorry to hear of the death of HRH Prince Philip, earlier today, 9th April.

    Please be informed that there will be a book of Condolence at Halvergate Village Hall from Monday 12th April to Sunday 18th April.  The Village Hall will be open between 9.00 am and 5.00pm. 

    There will be loose leaves for you to either fill in with your message of condolence in the church, or for you to take away and complete at home, to return to the church later.  These will be collected together and bound into a leather Condolence Book which will eventually be given to the Norfolk Records Office for historical archiving.
